2nd day HK adventure of mommy & jai

Ok Day 2. Woke up early. Around 6am. I plan to walk around the Kowloon streets since there are lots of stores to see. Jai ate pandesal while i ate granola bars.

After eating, packed our bags and cleaned the room. But Jai doesnt want to move. He says he just wanted to stay in the hotel. That wont work. Its our first time in HK and yet this kiddo doesnt want to move?! He just wants to watch chinese tv. And he is pretending to speak chinese.

The crappy room that we had is just unbearable. i just wanted to go out and leave. The bathroom is so small and yucky. And the hot water, its 3sec cold, 3sec hot. So I tried convincing Jai to move. I think he's still tired so I let him rest for a while. And Jai is anxiously asking for a tabo.

9am, I got the hotel glass as tabo and bathed Jai. And this crappy hotel door got stucked. I thought we couldnt get out. I tried and finally it got open.

1030am, front desk of the hotel. We checked out. I asked for a taxi service but the front desk says its just a 10min walk.

We started walking and around the park Jai told me he is tired. Thats when I saw that he wore his sandals wrong. Imagine we walked for around 10min and he had his sandals wrong?! Hay, that kid. We asked around since I dont know where to go. We finally arrived.

Dorsett Seaview is a lot nicer. They have 2 bed and a window! Nice bathroom. When we entered, it didnt have electricity. Im starting to be annoyed and will call the front desk. Then I read our card, it has to be inserted to the slot to power on the electricity. Ang tanga ko lang.

We ate lunch at McDo. Their happy meal had corn kernels and since Jai loved corn he enjoyed his lunch.

Off to the peak tower! Ok, another katangahan. After we went down to the MTR, I dont know where to go to the Peak. We asked a man and he said to turn left. I saw a bus that says we need to go off to hong kong park to the peak lower terminus. We missed our bus stop so I really dont know what to do. Then I saw a sign that says Peak Tram Pathway. We went down and then I told myself we just have to follow that path down. After a few minutes, Jai become really tired and I still haven't seen the end of the tram. So I decided to take the taxi to the tram. And funny thing is that the tram is just a corner away.

We enjoyed the Peak. Me & Jai are both scared of heights. But we still took a few shots before we went down to the shopping centers. Actually I didnt shop because its either Jai will impatiently frown at me or he finds a toy and will bug me to buy the toys. We went outside where Jai enjoyed the big screen tv while eating a 10 hkd nestle drumstick. Well, I also cant resist the coffee so I bought my favorite starbucks latte worth 32hkd.

After that we went on a very long way to Avenue of the Stars. Jai is having tantrums already as he is not used to very long walks. After 3 stumbles, and lot of whining we got there. He doesnt want to have his picture taken. We found a spot where we could rest and waited for the lights show. We really enjoyed the view. These were the times that I badly wanted an SLR camera. My crappy camera cannot capture the shots that I wanted. My I phone camera is even better than my digicam.

After the light show we went to look for the stars. One funny moment when I took Jai's pic to a clapper. He touched the light. It's really hot and he was about to cry so I pretended I didnt see him. Haha... Its really funny. Famous personality seen (or the only ones that I know): Bruce Lee, Jacky Chan, Jet Li and Chow Yan Fat.

We walked again to the Shim Sha Tsu station. A very very long walk. Its very tiring. When we got to Yaw Ma Tei station, I forgot where to exit. There was 5 exits. I tried to remember what exit we went in. So stupid of me. So I tried the A1 exit and it was wrong. I saw the KFC that I used to see yesterday on the other side of the street. Jai is really punching me for taking the wrong exit. He just wanted to rest. I pursued him to eat first at KFC since I am very hungry too. He doesnt want to eat.

Ok after that I looked for the customer service booth where we bought our tickets and prayed that the next exit is our exit. Fortunately I got it correctly.

Then I discovered that Temple Street is so close to our hotel. Temple street is where the night market is located. Unfortunately, Jai doesnt want to go because he said its dirty. Ok he wins. I can still go the next day after our disneyland.

Jai sleeped at once while I ate 5 pandesal. Im so hungry and thats my dinner. I need to prepare for the big day. Disneyland!

063011.. Jai's 5th... Day 1 HK

So here we are, day 1 in HK. We're in our hotel room. Jai sleeping soundly at my side and i have a fever. I was supposed to sleep but I cant wait to blog all the happenings today. Besides i was waiting for the dipenhydramine to take effect. So here it is....

Woke up at 6am today to prepare for Jai's birthday party. His dad picked us up at around 9am. Off to school. Jai had a mcdonalds party with playhouse disney as theme. Jai really enjoyed the party, participated on all games and is now not afraid of the mascot. Nate is there also. He enjoyed the party also and ate hashbrown. We picked grimmace mascot. Nate is afraid of the mascot. Hehe. One of the highlights is the family picture. Its just ironic. We could have been a real family.

On our way to the airport, me and X had a nice conversation about the annulment, what will happen in the alexandra south, kids future, his gf and other things. This proves that i am no longer affected. Its fun to be at peace with him atleast for the sake of the kids.

Ate at Mc Donalds before going to the airport. Jai bought a Master Shifu toy. At the airport, we paid the travel tax and airport fee. We haven't left yet and I already paid 2200 for the tax and 1500 for the airport fee. We checked in our bags and go to our gate. The flight attendant called us and transferred us to a better seat 2A & B near the window. And during boarding we did not get in the line since they prioritized old persons and those who have kids with them. Hehe.

Quotable quote:
Jai: mom where is your bag?
Mom: there under my seat
Jai: no, our red bag. you left in the airport pla
Mom: no, we checked it in. It is located in the bottom of the airplane
Jai: huh? where? i cant see it...
Mom: yes because its under this floor
Jai: are you sure?! we dont have our things.

Jai is super kulit that every 5min he keeps on asking about that red bag. Another cute moment before take off:

Jai pretending to drive
Mom: Jai what are you doing?
Jai: im driving the JP.
Mom: what?
Jai: JP... Short for Jai Plane. Fasten your seatbelt we're going to blast off!

And upon landing, Jai couldnt handle the pressure in his ears. I know its painful for him and he keeps on covering his ears.

At Hong Kong International Airport, Jai got so excited about the walkway escalator that he literally dragged me and I fell. Grabe. It was really an embarrasing moment but I understand his excitement.

We passed thru immigration and the baggage counter. I went to the tourist information to ask the bus ride to our hotel. The guide told me to ride the A21 bus and our stop is on the station 8. Sino Center Nathan Rd. Every information I asked where the bus stop is. When we got outside it was so hot & humid just like the Philippines.

Finally we are on our bus. Jai really insisted to seat on the Second floor of the bus and so we did. After 5min Jai already fell asleep. He is so tired. Im tired also but I really couldn't sleep because I have to check where we are. At station 5 I already woke up Jai. We are in the busy streets of Hong Kong. We finally got off and the streets are so busy. A lot of potential shopping material but I didnt get here to shop. I was really not feeling well and all I wanted is to go to our hotel.

The hotel was the smallest hotel room I have ever entered. I thought the hotel in Amsterdam is the smallest but this is so small and it even doesn't have any windows! The only good thing they have free wifi. Anyway we will be staying here for one night and transfer to Dorsett Seaview tomorrow.

This concludes our day 1 in HK. By the way, I forgot my. Cough meds athome so I just resorted to dipenhydramine, vit c and paracetamol. And Jai is already reading (pretending) to speak Chinese already.

Nighty... I feel drowsy already.

Jai's firt digital theatre experience

I know this blog has been long overdue. Lately, i have been busy with work and our desktop crashed. When in reinstalled itunes and plugged my phone, the blogger was not reinstalled. Actually a lot of apps didnt. Ok enough of
the rants.

This blog is all about Jai and his first digital theatre experience.

The date is set. We're about to watch Kung Fu Panda 2. The first attempt, Jai changed his mind so I planned to be with his Ate Shiri and my good friend Ayi. On the way to SM Calamba, Jai is so excited. We bought popcorn as per request of Jai. Im making him comfortable and at ease as much as possible as i dont want to waste money on movie ticket.

So there we go, the lady gave us the 3D glasses. Shiri held Jai's hand and they walked inside the cinema. I think Jai didnt have any time to process that he is very afraid of the dark and we even seated on a very strategic location at the very top row.

As we seated, Jai suddenly remembered that he's afraid of dark enclosed space so he told me he's going to pee. The comfort room is outside the cinema so I really had to device a way so that we could go back inside the cinema. So, I left all our things inside, even my phone. Hehe...

On our way Jai is forcing me to go inside the Men's bathroom because he said he is a boy. This is one of those moments that i got disappointed at his dad. I can never enter in a boys comfort room and Jai is still too small to pee alone but this is also the time where his concept that he is a boy is developing. We still end up in the ladies bathroom anyway.

As expected, Jai said that he doesnt want to come back inside. I told him our things are inside and his ate shiri is waiting for him. He gives in and off we went back to the cinema.

We enjoyed the movie. Jai is so amazed with the digital movie. He says he can almost touch things. Actually, before we went in the cinema, Jai already researched about the movie by watching the trailer at youtube. He also told me that the title is Kung Fu Panda 2: Kaboom of Doom (or something like that.. Hehe)

Here comes another tanga moment for me. Jai's smart ass move makes me feel that I am stupid.

Jai: mom the movie is good. I really liked the cyan glasses. Can you please buy me one?
Me: what anak?
Jai: cyan glasses.
Ayi: pre google it.
Me: hindi ko nga alam ang spelling. Hindi ko sya naintindihan.

So i pulled my phone, and typed (guess what?!)

Ciang glass
Google said: did you mean cyan glass

Cyan glass (could be red cyan or blue cyan) are glasses that was used in watching 3D. Gosh, Jairus at his age researched it already and he is already equipped
with all the basics of the digital cinema prior to going there.

Nice one kiddo!

Trivia: when you looked at the iphone while wearing the 3d glasses, you will see rainbow.

Jai's first Text Message

Its been quite a while since the last entry. Its not that the kids never made any improvement or milestone. Its just that I've been very busy these past few weeks. First, i've been quite immersed with work, tutorials and kdrama. Yes, im guilty. I havent spent much time with the kids.

So Jai has learned something new. Texting. Grabe at 4, he already knows how to texf. It was yesterday, i was at starbucks with my ex-coworkers, Jai started texting me. Just wanted to share to everyone this moments. Super funny:

Love mom i phone !

Give me mp3 i lost my old mp3

Wall -e dvds for jai and mamu

Then I told Jai I'm with his ninang cath. Here is what he texted:

Let me bro your battry ningninang cat

Sadly i dont do not have coins battry pay $ 100000000000

BUT I DONT WORKING

Later, I learned that he's asking ninang cath for batteries for his old mp3. Hehe...

And while writing this blog, Jai told me: 'mom that's what i texted while waiting for you'

The Hopscotch

I meet up with my friend Ayi and my pretty baby Shiri (Ayi's daughter) at Mcdo. I just loved this mother and daughter so much. Just after we meet, Jai asked me if he could buy a watercolor so we went to Mega (a store in Sta. Cruz). Since the store is just near Mc Donalds and to exercise Jai's legs, we decided to walk.

While we are walking, I noticed that Jai is jumping often. So here is our exact conversation:

Mom: Jai why are you jumping? I am having a hard time walking.
Jai: I cant step on the line (pointing at the road).
Mom: Why anak?
Jai: Because I am pretending to play hopscotch.
(So eto nanaman kami... hindi ko nanaman alam yang hopscotch na yan!)
Mom: (maang maangan...) Ah... so you are playing hopscotch. thats nice anak. I think I forgot how to play hopscotch. Can you teach me again?
Jai: First, you draw rectangles with numbers. Then you get a stone, throw it in the number, and then you hop with one foot.
Mom: Ahhh

Piko lang pala pinahirapan pa ako! Sorry naman, mahirap lang kami nung bata kaya hindi ko alam ang hopscotch.

Wikipedia: To play hopscotch, a course is first laid out on the ground. Depending on the available surface, the course is either scratched out in dirt, or drawn with chalk on pavement. Designs vary, but the course is usually composed of a series of linear squares interspersed with blocks of two lateral squares. Traditionally the course ends with a "safe" or "home" base in which the player may turn before completing the reverse trip. The home base may be a square, a rectangle, or a semicircle. The squares are then numbered in the sequence in which they are to be hopped.

Mommy's Day

Today will be my day. Mom's day. My boss asked us what will we do today.  I really thought about it but I couldnt think of anything. So I jokingly say, 'Maghahanap ng babati sa akin'. Infact, I really never thought about it at all until that question came up. I even scheduled a shopping date with Khol and Cata today since I really forgot that its mothers day.

As posted in my wall: Your struggles & victories give others the courage to win their own battles. Don't hide them. This goes to all the single moms for they have been both a mom and a dad to their kids. Being a mom is hard enough, what more be a dad also at the same time. I salute you! All praises to the moms who give their 200% just to raise the future citizens of the world.

I cant help it, but i get sentimental since this will be my first of many mothers day that i'll be a single mom. Dont get me wrong. I am not at all bitter. If you would ask me now, im not really mad at him. I just love him that much that seeing him happy makes me contented. But my feeling as an abandoned wife is different from my feelings as a mom who sees her kids get their little hearts broken. And sometimes I really get frustrated at how little time he spends with the kids. And how he never even bothered to check whats happening to them.

Anyway, i thought this would just be another normal day but kuyakoy surprised me and it really meant a lot to me. All his effort on making something just to make me happy. My heart leaped in joy and excitement. It turned out that this is not just any other day. Today is mothers day. I am really overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of the inakay.

The rose. Just like a shy suitor, Jai gave me the rose. Although this came from his school, the mere fact that he never let anyone touch it besides me is really heartwarming.

The card. This is also from his school activity. Sweetness!!!

Not your ordinary popsicle stick. He made an effort to write this kind words. Jai hates to write but he makes this occassion an exemption. And take note, nobody dictated him on what to write.. He doesn't copy it from anything. He just wrote it. So this one made me cry because I know and feel the sincerity in those words. Im really touched.

So this day, although spent as a single mom, im not really sad at all. Infact I am so happy and fulfilled that I am appreciated by my kid despite of me.

Quotable quotes? Ofcourse meron:

Jai: mommy happy mothers day. I really love you
Me: thank you anak. (kissed him)
Jai: mommy dont be sad, when I grow up im gonna marry you.
Me: hahahaha, anak you cant marry me. Just go get a nice girl and marry her.
Jai: ok, but i will never leave you.
Me: thank you anak.

---------------

Me: Jai greet mamu happy mothers day
(ang tagal, nagiisip)
Jai: but i cant greet mamu. She is not my mommy. You are my mommy.
Me: but mamu is also a mom. She is my mommy.
Jai: ok. Happy yaya's day mamu.
wapak!
